I think the key for me kind of abandoning the screening process was surrounding myself with people who liked me for who I am. I knew that I didn't have to keep quiet or plan out what I said carefully because it didn't matter to them and they weren't going to judge me. After a while, I realized that I didn't have to change myself for anyone, even if I'd never met them before, because I found that I liked the person I was hiding and I wanted to be her all the time. And if they didn't like who I really am, then I didn't have to waste my time dealing with them.
