When you have to play a show that is a long way away, do the people in charge pay for you to go?

Sometimes. Unfortunately, with the economy the way it's been for the past few years, a lot of libraries have lost their programming budgets. If they do pay us, more often than not, what we're paid is absorbed by travel costs. Sadly, this means playing less and less shows every year because we can no longer afford to lose money on a show. We mostly have to hope that people will buy our merch and music so we can bring home some money for rent, bills, and food.
